영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the needs for an employer-supported daycare center from the employees in Chonnam National University. Participants were completed a questionnaire which asked about the degree of satisfaction on their present child-care their needs and expectation on employer-supported daycare center(including specific service time, importance in service, specific care environment, equipment, & program, and needs of extended care and integrative care with handicapped children). Major results showed that approximately 91% of participants hoped to use an employer-supported daycare center if provided, and the 50% of them have preschool children. Second, 64% of participants wants to use time-extended care, and even the persons who are planning to use the extended service only once or twice a month answered that they were willing to pay extra tuition for the service. Third, participants considered that teacher’s ability is the most important element of child-care and the service programs related to children’s safely, health, and nutntion are the most significant. The findings from the present study can be reflected to actual process of establishment and management of an employer-supported daycare center and the development of specific care programs for employees in Chonnam National University.
