영문 초록

The purposes of this study were to analyse the difference of adolescent's adjustment to school life according to sociodemographic variables, familial variables, family strengths, and self esteems, and to examine effective variables influencing on adolescent's adjustments to school life. The subjects were 434 adolescents from Gwangju City. Datas were analyzed with frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, pearson's correlation analysis and multiple regression using SPSS/PC 14.0 Program. The major findings were as follows: 1. The family strengths and self esteems scores perceived by adolescent were higher than median and the adjustment to school life was middle range. 2. The adolescents' family strengths showed significant difference according to order of a birth, father's education level, a level of life and intimacy with parents. The self esteems showed significant difference according to father's education level, mother's education level, a level of life and intimacy with parents. And the adjustments to school life according to order of a birth, mother's education level, a level of life, intimacy with parents, family strengths and self esteems. 3. The adolescents' adjustments to school life were influenced by family strengths, self esteems, and sex. And the adolescents' adjustments were explained about 38% by these variables.
