국문 초록

한본 연구는 인구 고령화에 따른 현황 및 문제점을 살펴보고, 이에 대한 대안적 형태로 고령화 사회에 대비한 작업치료의 필요성과 발전방향을 연구하고자 한다. 현대사회는 의학의 발달과 공중위생의 향상 및 생활수준의 향상으로 평균수명이 연장되고 있다. 반면에 출산율은 지속적으로 감소하는 추세로 인해 노인인구의 비율은 날로 증가하고 있다. 특히 우리나라는 고령화 속도가 세계에서 가장 빠르게 진행되고 있어 노인문제가 더욱 다양해지고 심각해질 것으로 예상된다. 본 연구에서는 고령화 사회, 고령화 사회와 노인의료비 증가, 노화에 따른 변화, 노인의 질환, 고령화 사회의 작업치료의 역할에 대한 내용들을 중심으로 고령화 사회에 대비한 문제의 해결방안 중 하나의 예로 작업치료를 제시하였다. 이는 작업치료의 다양한 활동을 통하여 건강한 노화를 돕고 노화에 따른 변화를 대처하는 방안을 연구하는데 있다. 따라서 고령화 사회에 대비한 작업치료 활동을 통하여 작업치료 역할의 중요성과 작업치료의 영역을 살펴봄으로써 고령화 사회의 다양한 문제점을 해결하는데 기여할 것으로 기대한다.

영문 초록

This study focuses on the present state and problems that the aging population faces and hopes to come up with solutions for alternative forms of occupational therapy for the elderly. With the improvement of medicine in modern society, the average lifespan has been increased through the improvement of public health and standards of living. In contrast, the birthrate has been diminishing causing the ratio of elderly to increase. Korea especially, has been showing an increase in the elderly compared to other countries and this is a cause for concern. This study wants to show a solution through occupational therapy in aging society by focusing on the aging society, the increase of medical fees for the elderly, changes due to aging, and the ailments of the elderly. The many uses of occupational therapy will be covered for aging healthily and preventing other problems due to aging. The importance and territory for occupational therapy for the aging society will be shown.
