The industrial age is coming to end and, Our conceptualization of learning, methodology, usefulness, and worth of education to individuals will change. The holistic paradigm emerged as a vibrant and coherent intellectual movement in the 19805. Holistic education is rooted holism or the concept of an interconnected reality. A particular emphasis is the connection between one’s life and the external world. That is, holistic education is an effort 10 honor those intricate and subtle connections in human experience that the reducrionistic worldview has sundered-connections between persons, between the individuals and the community, between humanity and nature, between the material and the spiritual. Holistic education for Human Greatness consists of eight design “frames” into which individuals can paint their own mental images of a new system of education. Those are as follows : 1. The Mission of Education Develop great human beings who are valuable contributors to society. 2. Master Goals: The Three Dimensions of Human Greatness--Identity, Interaction, Inquiry 3. E. T. Partnerships : Parents and teachers work equally and together to help students grow in the three dimensions of human greatness. 4. A Take-Charge Philosophy: Teachers, parents, and students use curriculum as “means” rather than “enos,” as “servant” rather than “master,” 5, Multiple Intelligences Each person in the world is born with a unique set of intelligences to be developed, not a single IQ. 6. Evaluation of Greatness: Evaluation is used to assess student growth in greatness, and for feedback and guidance. 7. How the Brain Works: Humans learn through personal, self-initiated inquiry-the way they learned 10 talk and walk. 8. Strategies for Greatness Strategies are the how-to steps that emerge when we hold a clear vision of our mission and goals constantly in mind.
