영문 초록

This paper empirically explored the trend towards early retirement and its reasons in contemporary society. The economic activity and retirement of older people have become a major policy concern in most industrialised nations in recent years due to the trends of population ageing and early retirement. The analyses revealed the situations surrounding older people at retirement with respect to their economic status. Based on the outcomes of the analyses, it can be argued that the current system of social security needs to be reformed to ensure a more secured economic life for the retired population.
