영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to identify what are the unchristian elements in the reformed church in Korea and reemphasize the reformed theology and ethical norms. What kinds of unchristian elements arose in the reformed church in Korea? Now under the influence of postmodernism meaning 'postmodernity', the Korean society and reformed church are exercising postauthority, post structuralism and post conservatism. Due to the impact of postmodernity, religious pluralism arose in Korean society. Religious pluralism destroys the absoluteness of biblical truth and teaches that in every religion men can be saved from sin and eternal damnation. By such postmodern thinking the reformed church in Korea is gradually secularized. Then, what is the phenomenon of unchristian elements arose in the reformed church in Korea? First, many reformed churches consider 'God' like the array of the world's 'gods'. By such thinking the absolute sovereignty of God is weakened in the reformed theology. Second, the theological concept of sin is also weakened. The modern society considers sin as unlawful behavior and an unrighteous life. Third, in the reformed church, ethical norms disappeared because of modern society's refusal of ethical norms of the Bible and taking relative ethical norms as absolute ones. Fourth, many churches implement the marketing methods of business to promote church growth. This is taken from George Barna, who teaches that the church needs to use management techniques of business for church growth. Then, what are the reformed theology and ethical norms to reestablish for the reformed church under such influence? First, the reformed church and pastors must emphasize the theological balance between God's divine transcendence and immanence. Second, it needs to reestablish the biblical doctrine of church. If the church is called the spiritual community that God called out of the world, the church must practice biblical evangelism, worship that the Bible teaches, doctrinal teaching and church discipline for the believers. Third, it needs to reemphasize Christian ethical norms. The ethical norms must be founded on the Bible for the judgment of Christian words and deeds, good and bad behavior, right and wrong and justice and injustice in their lives. In order to practice these theological tasks and ethical norms the Ten Commandments must be emphasized, Christian love Christ has done for us must be done and social justice must be practiced. It is possible for ethical practices to emphasize that God is holy, God is against sin, evil thoughts and acts, and God's absolute authority of His word must be acknowledged. Recognizing such theological and ethical tasks, all believers in the Korean church must maintain the right relationship with God, promoting a loving church community which demonstrates sincerity and faithfulness in their living, while devoting themselves to serve one another.
