영문 초록

The history of the Hungarian people, who migrated to their present homeland more than a thousand year ago, has become inextricably linked with the Carpathian Basin and with the river Danube which runs through it. For more than a thousand years the history of the Hungarian people has taken place in an area delineated to the west and east but simultaneously open to influences from both directions. During its history, Hungary has been a bridge between East and West, as well as an island and ferry-country plying between the two. Hungary was once a proud empire full of ambitious plans, and later a truncated and suppressed little country. At the same time Hungarians have been both oppressors and oppressed. For nearly eleven centuries Slovaks, Turks, Hungarians, Romanians, and Germans have swirled together. The different ethnic elements have inspired and supported each other in creating material wealth and fostering spiritual advance. From time to time though, they have wronged each other and each other's cultures. Usually this aspects is leaded by misunderstanding and national sentiments which is manipulated by politicians. I tried to analyze the origin and aspect of the Hungarian nationalities problems in this paper. After all, We realize that the essence of Hungarian nationalities problems was not based on the attitude of several countries but the wave of national sentiments. Nowadays, the Hungarian doesn't want involved in nationalities problem any more. If they maintain this philosophy, perhaps they will reach their goals. In the end of this paper, I attached the table of nationalities ratio for the reader who want to extend his studies.
