全南 東部地域 百濟山城의 分布와 그 意味

국문 초록

全南 東部地域에서 조사된 百濟山城은 현재까지 17개소 정도가 확인되었다. 이를 바탕으로 山城의 分布와 築造方法 등의 樣相를 살펴보고 이를 토대로 百濟山城이 築造되는 배경과 그 의미를 찾고자 하였다. 전남동부지역 山城의 배치는 각각의 山城이 서로 대응하여 線으로 연결되는데, 이 지역에서는 蟾津江과 南海沿岸을 따라 交通路 상에 築城되었다. 한편 山城은 築造方法에 있어 비슷한 속성이 확인된다. 城壁의 대부분은 石築으로 築城되었으며, 城壁의 형태와 쌓기 방법·門址 설치장소·內部施設의 配置 등에서 공통적인 요소가 확인된다. 이러한 특징이 갖는 의미는 全南 東部地域의 百濟山城은 비슷한 시기에 百濟 중앙의 통제아래 계획적으로 築造되었다는 것이다. 또한 出土遺物·文獻紀錄을 검토해 보았을 때, 6세기 전반 경 全南 東部地域에 百濟가 山城을 축조함으로써 이 지역이 완전한 百濟의 영역화가 되었음을 알 수 있다.

영문 초록

The research on Baekche fortress(百濟山城) in eastern Cholla Province confirmed 17 of them until now. Based on these examples I examined their distribution pattern and tried to reconstruct the constructional method of Baekche fortresses, and furthermore tried to seek for the background of their construction and its historical meanings. The arrangement of fortresses in eastern Cholla Province is a lineal connection of individual fortress, and they were constructed in the locations along traffic course of the 'Seom-jin' river and southern coast. Fortresses in eastern Cholla Province which were mostly done by stone working, show similar construction method as seen in overall shape of wall, stone stacking method, position of doors, inside facilities, and so on. This shows that all those fortresses were constructed by the plan dictated from the central government of Baekche during certain range of period. This can be also supported by various specimens recovered from the fortresses and corresponding historical records. In early 6th century, Baekche declared her sovereignty over the territory by setting up a series of fortresses in eastern Cholla Province.
