유아교사의 다문화교육에 대한 인식과 다문화적 교사효능감에 대한 연구

국문 초록

  본 연구는 다문화교육의 필요성이 부각되고 있는 상황에서 유아교사의 다문화교육에 대한 인식과 다문화적 교사효능감을 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 대상은 G시에 소재한 유아교육기관에 근무하고 있는 교사 283명이었다. 연구결과 첫째, 유아교사의 다문화교육에 대한 인식 전체는 교사의 ‘경력’과 담당하고 있는 ‘유아연령’에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 유아교사의 다문화적 교사효능감에 대한 결과는 유아교사의 ‘교직경력’과 근무‘기관유형’, ‘유아연령’에서 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 다문화적 효능감의 하위영역인 교수활동 방법과 문화적 편견, 교수자료 및 다문화가정의 배려 등으로 구분하여 분석결과에서 교사들의 다문화적 효능감은 보통 이하 수준에 머무르고 있었다. 이러한 결과는 유아교사의 다문화교육에 대한 인식 전환과 함께 유아교육현장의 다문화교육 실태와 문제점을 파악하여 앞으로 다문화교육의 나아갈 방향을 제시하는 기초 자료로 사용될 수 있을 것으로 본다.

영문 초록

  The prupose of this study is to investigate of multicultural perception and multicultural efficacy of preschool teachers. The Multicultural Perceptions Survey, a 20-item inventory, and Multicultural Efficacy Scale were administered to 283 preschool teachers in G city. The collected data were analyzed with one-way ANOVA, t-test, and post hoc(Scheffe alpha .05). The major results of this study were as follows. First there were significant differences in teachers"s multicultural perceptions according to their career and children"s age in charge. Second, there were significant differences in teachers"s multicultural efficacy according to their career, types of preschool and children"s age in charge. As such, multicultural education must carried out in pre-service and in-service education programs. There is also strong need to develop instructional competences in multicultural preschool settings. The result should provide useful information for reviewing the childhood teacher multicultural education.
