영문 초록

  The principle of the revised Family Law of Turkey which accepted a general assembly of Parliament in Nov. 2001 was the observance of equal right for both sexes. Especially, most of Turkish jurists agree that the revised Family Law perfectly guarantee equal right for both sexes. The equal right for both sexes in Turkey was assured through the articles which stipulated monogamy, the abolishment of the master of a household, the confirmation of the equal right of own property to husband-wife on the equal level of the Family Law of European countries. First of all, the confirmation of the equal right of own property to husband-wife is a important means which can realize economic equality between husband and wife, if the wife of a household could understand the revised Family Law.
  In the second chapter of this research, the distinctive character of marriage, divorce, general rules of family life and property right of husband and wife in the revised Family Law was analyzed. In the third chapter of this research, the answers of interview with the some Turkish jurists and specialists in the other academic field was introduced to understand the general view of intellectuals about marriage, divorce, the equal right of both sexes, the right of inheritance, the activities of woman"s social organization in Turkey.
  As a result, the Turkish intellectuals who answered to the interview question almost accept the revised Family Law of Turkey as a kind of European Family Law.
