This study investigates the effectiveness of integrating ChatGPT- assisted translation-judgment tasks into inductive grammar learning for EFL students. Participants evaluated a series of English–Korean translations of passive-voice sentences generated by ChatGPT and completed a reflective survey about their learning experience. Findings revealed that students generally demonstrated a strong ability to recognize correct and incorrect uses of the passive voice, though they encountered greater difficulty when sentences included multiple grammatical features, such as the combination of progressive and passive forms. Qualitative results showed that learners developed heightened awareness of grammatical patterns, and increased motivation for self-directed learning. Many participants also expressed a more critical understanding of AI-generated translations, recognizing both their usefulness and their limitations. When used as a scaffold for guided comparison and reasoning, ChatGPT supports learners in discovering rules through analysis, offering a practical and engaging model for modern EFL grammar instruction.
