국문 초록

연구목적 본 연구는 일부 시도교육청에서 개발하고 있는 서논술형 평가 AI 자동채점이 원래 의도에 맞게 학생의 고차원적 사고를 제대로 측정하고 있는지를 검토하고자 한다. 선행연구를 검토한 결과 2022 개정 교육과정 성취기준의 모호함을 극복하기 위해 준거를 명확하게 제시하고 있다고 알려진 IB MYP가 제공하는 평가 프레임의 평가 기준을 사용하여 AI 자동 채점의 사례를 제시하고자 했다. 연구방법 현행 서논술형 AI 자동 채점의 평가 기준으로 삼고 있는 2022 개정 교육과정의 성취기준 적합성을 검토한 후, 그 의미와 사용 방식이 명확하지 않은 성취 기준보다는 교과 역량을 평가하고 있다고 알려진 IB MYP의 루브릭을 평가 기준으로 활용했다. 또한, AI 자동 채점 결과를 평가의 최종적인 점수 판단보다는 형성평가의 피드백 제공을 위한 목적으로 사용했다. 연구결과 AI 자동채점 시스템은 인간 교사보다 빠른 시간에 일률적인 평가 결과를 제시할 수있다. 따라서, 교사 평가의 보조 수단으로 사용한다면 평가업무 경감에 도움이 된다. 또한 AI가 제공하는 피드백의 양과 질도 우수하여 형성평가 단계에서 AI 자동채점 시스템을 사용한다면 학생이 주도적으로 자신의 학습을 개선해서 주도성을 길러주는 학습과 평가에 도움이 된다. 학술적 기여 서논술형 AI 평가의 설계 기초 단계에 적합한 데이터를 입력하는 것은 차후 의도한 결과값을 안정적으로 얻는 데 중요하다. 따라서, MYP 준거를 활용한 본 연구는 서논술형 AI 평가를 위한 평가 기준 수립과 평가 기준 상세화 모형 수립에 시사점을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine whether AI automatic scoring for essay-type assessments, currently being developed by some provincial and metropolitan offices of education, accurately measures students' higher-order thinking skills as originally intended. After reviewing prior research, we aimed to present a case study of AI automatic scoring using the assessment criteria from the IB MYP assessment framework, which is known to clearly define criteria to overcome the ambiguity of the 2022 revised curriculum's achievement standards. Methods After reviewing the suitability of the 2022 revised curriculum's achievement standards—currently used as the assessment criteria for AI automatic scoring of essay-type assessments—the study employed the rubrics from the IB MYP as the assessment criteria. This was because the IB MYP rubrics are known to assess subject competencies, whereas the achievement standards are often unclear in meaning and usage. Furthermore, the AI automatic scoring results were used for the purpose of providing feedback for formative assessment rather than as the final score determination. Results The AI automatic scoring system can provide uniform assessment results faster than human teachers and, when used as an auxiliary tool for teacher evaluation, helps reduce the workload of assessment tasks. Furthermore, the quantity and quality of feedback provided by AI are excellent. Using the AI automatic scoring system during the formative assessment stage helps foster student-led learning and assessment by enabling students to proactively improve their own learning and develop initiative. Contributions The academic contributions are as follows. Inputting data suitable for the foundational design stage of essay-type AI assessment is crucial for reliably obtaining intended results later. Therefore, this study, utilizing MYP standards, can provide insights for establishing assessment criteria and developing detailed assessment criteria models for essay-type AI assessment.
