중도입국학생의 진로인식 사례 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 다문화사회로 도입한 한국 사회에서 중도입국학생이 경험하는 진로인식 사례를 알아보고, 이에 따른 진로교육의 방향을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구는 심층면담 방법을 사용하여 청소년기에 입국한 중도입국 학생의 진로인식 사례를 연구하였다. 심층면담을 위해 진로와 직업 교과의 2022 개정교육과정에서의 대영역인 진로와 나의 이해, 직업 세계와 진로 탐색, 진로 설계와 실천의 세 영역을 활용하여 진로 인식 관련 면담 내용을 추출하였다.연구 결과, 참여 학생들은 본인 의지와 상관없이 불분명한 상태로 한국에 입국하여 입국 초반에는 혼란과 어려움을 겪었으나 현재는 안정적이고 만족스러운 학교 생활을 하고 있으며 자기 이해를 위해 고찰하는 모습을 보였다. 직업 세계와 진로 탐색 영역에서 직업에 대한 편견은 보이지 않았으며, 직업 가치관은 개인에 따라 다른 양상을 보였다. 그러나 자신의 진로 탐색을 위해서는 적극적이거나 자기주도적인 모습을 보이지는 않았다. 진로 설계와 실천 모습은 구체적이지 않고 불명확한 상태로 현실성이 부족한 상태인 것으로 파악되었다. 결론적으로 중도입국학생의 진로인식은 학생 개인의 여건과 상황에 따라 다르게 나타나며, 자기 이해 의지는 있으나 자신의 강점이나 진로역량개발을 위해 구체적인 노력은 하지 않는 것으로 보인다. 진로 설계와 실천 수준은 구체적인 탐색이나 현실적 진로와 진학에 대한 자기주도적 실천 능력은 부족한 경향을 보이는 일반 중학생과 유사한 것으로 나타났다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 세 가지 제언을 한다. 첫째, 중도입국학생의 여건과 상황에 맞춘 진로상담 등의 맞춤형 프로그램을 마련하여 운영하는 것이 필요하다. 둘째, 중도입국학생이 자신의 강점에 대해 명확히 이해하고 구체적으로 실천하도록 실천 방안을 제시할 수 있어야 한다. 셋째, 중도입국학생이 구체적이고 현실적인 경험을 통해 자기주도적으로 진로를 탐색하고 설계하도록 다양한 기회를 제공하여야 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to find out the case of career recognition experienced by middle-income students in Korean society, which has been introduced as a multicultural society, and to seek the direction of career education accordingly. The study studied the case of career recognition of 6 immigrant students who entered adolescence using the in-depth interview method. For in-depth interviews, interview contents related to career recognition were classified and organized using three areas: career and my understanding, professional world and career exploration, and career design and practice in the 2022 revised curriculum for career and vocational subjects. As a result of the study, the participating students entered Korea in an unclear state regardless of their will and experienced confusion and difficulties in the early stages of entry, but now they have a stable and satisfactory school life and have shown consideration for self-understanding. There was no prejudice against occupation in the world of work and career search, and job values were different for each individual. They did not show an active or self-directed appearance for his career exploration. The career design and practice appearance were found to be unclear, and reality was insufficient. In conclusion, immigrant students' career perception appears differently depending on the individual student's conditions and circumstances, and although they have a will to self-understand, they do not seem to make specific efforts to develop their strengths or career competencies. The level of career design and practice was found to be similar to that of general middle school students, showing a tendency to lack specific exploration or self-directed ability to practice realistic career paths and advancement. The research results make three suggestions. First, it is necessary to prepare and operate a customized program such as career counseling tailored to the conditions and circumstances of immigrant students. Second, it is necessary to present action plans so that immigrant students can clearly understand their strengths and practice them concretely. Third, various opportunities should be provided to explore and design their own career paths through specific and realistic experiences.
