청년의 우울 궤적 유형과 관련 영향 요인에 관한 연구: 성별 차이를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 청년의 우울 궤적을 유형화하고, 그 잠재 유형에 영향을 미치는 사회적 결정 요인을 성별의 차이를 중심으로 비교분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 한국복지패널 14-18차(2019~2023년) 원자료를 활용하여 만 19~39세 청년 1,066명을 대상으로 잠재계층성장분석과 다항로지스틱회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 남성과 여성 청년의 우울 궤적은 동일하게 총 3개 집단, 즉 우울-증가군, 우울-유지군, 고위험 우울-감소군으로 유형화되었는데, 전반적으로 여성 청년의 우울 수준이 남성 청년의 우울 수준보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 남성 청년의 경우에는 연령, 고용 형태, 사회경제적 박탈이 우울 궤적 유형에 영향을 미쳤고, 여성 청년은 연령, 주거 빈곤, 배우자 여부, 가족관계만족도, 주관적 건강, 의료급여가 우울 궤적 유형에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 연구 결과를 토대로 성별에 따른 청년의 우울감소를 위한 맞춤형 실천적, 정책적 함의를 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to classify the trajectories of depression among young adults and to conduct a comparative analysis of the factors associated with these latent classes, with a focus on gender differences. For this purpose, this study utilized raw data from the waves 14 to 18 of the Korean Welfare Panel Study (KOWEPS), analyzing a sample of 1,066 individuals aged 19 to 39. Latent class growth analysis (LCGA) and multinomial logistic regression were employed to identify trajectory patterns and their predictors. The main findings of the study are as follows. First the depression trajectories of both male and female young adults were classified into three groups: increasing depression group, persistent depression group, and high-risk but decreasing depression group. Overall, female participants exhibited higher levels of depression than their male counterparts. Second, among male young adults, age, employment type, and socioeconomic deprivation significantly influenced depression trajectories. In contrast, among female young adults, factors such as age, housing poverty, marital status, family relationship satisfaction, subjective health status, and receipt of medical benefits were found to be significant predictors. Based on these findings, this study discussed practical and policy implications for gender-sensitive approaches to reducing depression among young adults.
