차라투스트라는 이렇게 수업했다: 교육인류학의 눈으로

국문 초록

이 논문은 니체의 저서 <차라투스트라는 이렇게 말했다>를 중심으로 니체의 사상을 검토하고, 그에 비추어서 우리나라 학교교육 특히 수업을 개선하는 데 도움이 될 아이디어를 찾고 있다. 먼저 ‘왜 차라투스라인가’를 묻고 답함으로써 논의의 정당화를 시도한다. 그리고는 ‘차라투스트라라면 수업을 어떻게 했을지’ 일종의 가상적인 답변서를 작성한다. 여기서 제시되고 있는 답변은 ‘어린아이’들이 하는 수업, ‘위버멘쉬( Ubermensch)’가 되는 수업, 놀이를 거듭하는 수업, 차이를 창조하는 ‘영원회귀’의 수업, 경쾌하게 웃고 춤추는 수업, 몸을 중시하는 수업, 시대 초월적인 수업, 힘을 기르는 수업 등의 여덟 가지다. 이런 ‘이념형(ideal type)’의 수업들이 우리 사회와 학교 현실에서 구현 가능할지 의혹을 풀기 위하여 ‘우리도 그런 수업을 할 수 있을까’를 비판적으로 따져본다. 그에 대한 답변은 각 교육주체의 각성과실천이 일차적 요건이며, 국가와 시장 의존적인 학교교육 구조를 바꾸어야 한다는 것이다. 그리고 교육제도 전반에 걸쳐서 평가의 의미와 방법에 대한 인식 및 실천의 전환이 급선무라고 본다. 마지막으로 니체의 사상을 질적 연구와 교육인류학에 접목하기 위해서 ‘문질빈빈(文質彬彬)으로 본 차라투스트라’라는 주제의 논의를 덧붙이고 있다. 단적인 예로 니체가 중시하는 ‘우연’ ‘순진무구’ ‘뜻밖’ ‘자유분방’ 등의 개념은 질적 연구의 기본 철학과 맞닿아 있다. 뿐만 아니라 니체의 현상학적 초월과 실존론적 해체 사상은 교육인류학은 물론 다문화교육의 원리와 상통한다. This is to discover useful ideas for Korean schooling and classroom instruction from Nietzschean works including Thus Spoke Zarathustra. It begins to rationalize the discourse by asking ‘Why Zarathustra?’ And then it provides us with an imaginative report answering the question of ‘How Zarathustra might teach in supposed pedagogical settings?’ Answers are (1) classes activated by Nietzschean ‘children’, (2) classes purposed to be Ubermensch altogether, (3) classes operated through forms of play, (4) classes of Die Ewige Wiederkunft producing differences again and again, (5) classes full of delighted laughter and dance, (6) classes focused on the body, (7) transcendental classes beyond contemporary epoch, (8) classes of Der Wille zur Macht. The discourse moves to the question ‘Is it possible?’ in order to validate such ‘ideal type’ classes in Korean school and classroom circumstances. The author’s opinion is that it could be possible when the consciousness and practice among Korean educators is in conjunction with transforming the dependency against state and market, and with transforming the evaluation system in Korean schools and classes. The discourse finally moves to the topic ‘Zarathustra interpreted from the qualitative research principle 문질빈빈(文質彬彬)’. The author’s opinion is that the basic philosophy of qualitative research conforms to Nietzschean concepts like ‘accidental’, ‘naive’, ‘unforeseen’, and ‘unfettered’. Also, Nietzschean theories of phenomenological transcendence and existential deconstruction might well conform to the basic principles of educational anthropology and multicultural education.
