유아교육현장에서의 부모참여 실제에 대한유아교사의 인식

국문 초록

이 연구는 유아교육 현장에서 부모참여가 어떻게 이루어지고 있는지를 사례 중심으로 분석하고, 유아교사가 생각하는 부모참여의 혜택과 이유, 그리고 부모참여 활동을 계획하고 전개하며 교사가 경험하는 어려움과 요구에 대해서 심층면담을 통해 파악함으로써 부모참여 활성화를 위한 시사점을 제공하려는 목적에서 이루어졌다.연구결과 유치원에서 이루어지는 부모참여의 유형과 방법이 매우 다양하였으며, 강연회 형식의 부모교육에 대한 부모의 관심이 낮은 반면 부모참여 수업 등 유아와 함께 하는 부모참여 활동에 대한 부모의 호응과 참여도가 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 유아교사들은 부모참여 활동이 유아, 부모, 교사 모두에게 주는 혜택이 있다고 인식하고 있었으나 궁극적으로는 유아에게 가장 많은 혜택이 주어진다는 견해를 가지고 있었다. 또한 부모참여의 여러 유형 중에서도 부모가 자녀의 학급 활동에 직접 참여할 때 유아의 자신감이 높아지고 또래관계가 향상된다고 생각하였다. 부모참여 활동으로 인하여 교사가 경험하는 어려움은 부모참여 활동 준비에 소요되는 많은 시간과 과중한 업무, 부모들이 참여하지 못하는 유아들이 소외됨으로 인한 염려, 그리고 부모가 참여했을 때 평소와 다르게 행동하는 유아들로 인한 어려움 등이 있었다. This study examines early childhood teachers' perceptions on the practices of parent involvement in kindergartens. In-depth interviews with 10 early childhood teachers were carried out to understand their perceptions on the benefits and difficulties of parent involvement. This study found various forms of parent involvement activities provided for parents who enroll their children in kindergartens. The teachers indicated that parents show a high level of interest in activities provided for parents and children together but the participation rate is very low for parent education workshops. Teachers also mentioned that children, parents, and teachers all benefit from parent involvement but children get the most benefits. The interview data revealed that parent involvement in the classroom helps children build self-confidence and facilitates peer relationships. The teachers pointed out the lack of time and an overwhelming amount of workloads as barriers to parent involvement and family-school partnerships. Teachers also mentioned that they were worried about children whose parents do not participate. Children who act differently in the presence of their parents created another challenge for them. Suggestions for effective parent involvement in early schooling are provided in detail.
