MZ세대의대중인식과인식개선방안으로서인문교류의효과성 - 오인식과 혐오, 교류의 관계에 대한 정치·사회심리학적 고찰을 중심으로

국문 초록

한중 양국 관계는 여러 분야의 교류와 협력에서 상당한 성과를 거두며 빠르게 발전해 왔지만, 여전히 개선을 요하는 부분도 남아있다. 최근 한국 국민들 사이에서 중국에 대한 부정적 인식이 증가하고 있으며, 이는 혐오 발언 등 극단적 갈등의 기반이 되고 있어 우려하고 있다. 중국에서도 한국에 대한 부정적 인식은 존재하지만, 시사인 연구 조사에 따르면 한국 MZ 세대의 중국에 대한 부정적 인식이 더욱 심각하다.2) 한국 MZ 세대의 중국에 대한 감정 온도는 각각 15.9%, 21.8%로, 40·50 세대의 28.3%, 30.8%와 60 대 이상의 31.1%보다 낮아, MZ 세대가 중국에 대한 부정적 인식을 주도하는 주요 집단이 되었다. MZ 세대는 향후 한중 관계 발전을 견인할 주요 동력이 될 것이므로, 한중 관계가 긍정적 협력 관계로 나아가기 위해서는 이들의 부정적 인식 및 오인식을 수정할 필요가 있다. 본고는 문헌 연구를 통해 한국 청년들 사이에서 중국에 대한 부정적 인식이 높아진 주요 원인을 분석하고, 정치·사회심리학적 관점에서 오인식이 형성되는 원인을 파악한다. 또한, 중국의 인문 교류 정책을 통해 디지털 시대에 문화 간 소통을 증진시키고, 한중 청년 교류 방식을 새롭게 만들어 한중 우호 협력 관계의 실용적이고 장기적인 발전을 제시한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 문헌 연구와 정치·사회심리학적 실증연구 방법을 사용하였다. 문헌 연구에서는 관련 국내외 서적 자료와 정기 간행물 연구논문 및 인터넷 여론조사를 참조하였다.

영문 초록

The bilateral relationship between Korea and China has seen rapid and smooth development across various fields through active exchange and cooperation, yielding favorable outcomes. However, numerous challenges persist. Recently, there has been a noticeable increase in negative perceptions of China among the Korean population and this rise in negative sentiment is alarming as it may form the basis for extreme conflicts and hate. Similarly, negative perceptions of Korea exist too in China. According to a study by “Sisain”, the negative perception of China is particularly severe among the Korean MZ generation (Millennials and Generation Z). The sentiment scores of the Korean MZ generation towards China are 15.9% and 21.8%, significantly lower than those of the 40-50 age group (28.3%, 30.8%) and those aged 60 and above (31.1%). This indicates that the MZ generation is the primary group driving the negative perception of China, which is gradually recovering overall. Considering that the MZ generation has grown alongside the evolving Korea-China relationship and will be a crucial driving force for its future development, it is evident that addressing their negative perceptions is essential for fostering a more positive cooperative relationship. Therefore, this study aims to explore the major causes of the heightened negative perception of China among Korean youth by identifying the reasons for the formation of such misconceptions using socio-political psychology. Additionally, it suggests the effectiveness of expanding cultural communication through people-to-people-exchange in the digital age and innovating the methods of Korea-China youth exchanges to achieve practical and long-term development of positive, cooperative relations between the two countries. To achieve these objectives, this research employs literature review and empirical research methods in socio-political psychology. The literature review references South Korean and international books, periodicals, research papers, and online surveys relevant to this study.
