리퀴드폴리탄 시대의 지역화교육 방향 탐색

국문 초록

오늘날 도시는 고정되지 않고 액체처럼 유동적으로 움직인다 하여 리퀴드폴리탄이라는 용어가 등장하였다. 본 연구에서는 리퀴드폴리탄 시대의 특징을 파악하고 지역화 교육이 나아가야 할 방향을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 먼저 리퀴드폴리탄과 이 시대에 주목해야 할 관계인구에 대한 이론적 개념을 사회과교육의 측면에서 정리하였다. 다음으로 부산광역시와 강원특별차지도를 사례 지역으로 선정하여 인구 이동 빅데이터와 온라인 포털 사이트의 텍스트 자료를 수집 및 분석한 후, 리퀴드폴리탄 시대에 강점을 갖는 지역이 어떤 특징을 갖는지 파악하였다. 마지막으로 빅데이터 분석 결과를 바탕으로 하여 지역화교육이 나아가야 할 방향을 사회과를 중심으로 제시하였다. 연구결과에 따르면 강원특별자치도의 경우 방문하는 목적이 지역성을 드러내는 시설의 비중이 높으나, 부산광역시의 경우 백화점과 같은 상업시설을 목적으로 방문하는 경우가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 지역성을 나타내는 시설의 이용 비중이 높다는 것은 그 지역에 관심을 갖고 활동하는 방문자, 다시 말해 관계인구으로의 확산이 이루어질 가능성이 높다는 사실을 의미한다. 결론적으로 리퀴드폴리탄 시대의 지역화교육은 인간이 만든 도시 그리고 인간의 사유에 의해 구분되는 지역이 하나의 정체성이 아닌 다양한 측면과 성격을 가진 복합적인 특징이 있다는 사실에서 출발해야 한다. 이를 위하여 글로컬 지역의 정체성 함양과 지역화 역동성을 강조한 다중스케일의 네트워크적 영역성을 갖는 지역화교육이 이루어져야 할 것이다. 앞으로 지역화교육이 올바른 방향을 갖고 이루어진다면 다가올 새로운 시대에 대비하고 시대적 변화에 유연하게 대처할 수 있는 인재를 양성할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

In recent times, cities have been depicted as fluid entities, constantly in flux rather than static. This concept has given rise to the term ‘Liquidpolitan’. This study seeks to comprehend the essence of the Liquidpolitan era and to explore the evolving direction of regional education. To this end, the theoretical concepts of Liquidpolitan and relational populations, which are noteworthy in this era, were first organized from the perspective of social studies education. Next, Busan Metropolitan City and Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province were selected as case regions. Big data on population movement and text data from online portal sites were collected and analyzed to identify the characteristics of regions with strengths in the Liquidpolitan era. Finally, based on the results of the big data analysis, directions for regional education centered on social studies were presented. The research results indicate that in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, facilities that highlight regional characteristics have a high proportion of visits, whereas in Busan Metropolitan City, visits to commercial facilities such as department stores are more frequent. In other words, the high utilization rate of facilities that highlight regional characteristics suggests a higher likelihood of attracting visitors who are interested in and engage with the region, indicating the potential for expansion into a relational population. In conclusion, regional education in the Liquidpolitan era should start from the fact that cities created by humans and regions defined by human thoughts possess complex characteristics with various aspects and identities, rather than a single identity. To achieve this, regional education should emphasize the cultivation of glocal regional identity and dynamic region with multi-scale networked territoriality. If regional education proceeds in the right direction, it will be possible to nurture talents who can flexibly respond to the upcoming new era and adapt to its changes.
