국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 중학생이 지각한 부모와 교사의 자율성지지와 학교생활적응 간의 관계를 확인하고 이러한 관계에 있어 자기결정성 학습동기의 매개효과가 있는지 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 C시에 소재한 중학교 1～3학년 학생 358명 자료를 활용하였고, 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모의 자율성지지, 교사의 자율성지지, 자기결정성 학습동기, 학교생활적응 간에는 유의한 정적인 상관관계가 있었다. 둘째, 중학생이 지각한 부모의 자율성 지지와 학교생활적응 간의 관계에서 자기결정성 학습동기는 부분매개효과가 있었다. 그리고 중학생이 지각한 교사의 자율성 지지와 학교생활적응 간의 관계 역시 자기결정성 학습동기의 부분매개효과가 있었다. 즉, 중학생의 학교생활적응을 높이는데 부모와 교사의 자율성지지가 중요한 작용을 하며, 자기결정성 학습동기가 중학생이 지각한 부모와 교사의 자율성지지와 학교생활적응간의 관계에서 매개적인 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인하였다. 이러한 연구결과는 중학생의 학교생활적응 향상을 위해서는 가정과 학교 내에서의 자율성을 지지할 수 있는 환경을 제공하는 것 뿐만 아니라 자기결정성 학습동기를 높이는 것이 중요함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study examines the mediating effects of self-determination motivation on the relationship between parents’ and teachers’ autonomy support and school adjustment. The participants of this study are 358 students from first to third grade in middle school from C city. The results of this study are as follows. First, the analysis of the main variable correlation revealed a static correlation between parents’ and teachers’ autonomy support, self-determination motivation, and school adjustment. Second, self-determination motivation partially mediated the relationship between parents’ autonomy support and school adjustment. Self-determination motivation partially mediated the relationship between teachers’ autonomy support and school adjustment. This study indicates that parents’ and teachers’ autonomy support play an important role in improving middle school students’ adjustment, and self-determination motivation mediates the role between parents’ and teachers’ autonomy support and school adjustment. Thus, to improve school adjustment of middle school students, an environment that supports autonomy at home and in school, should be provided. Furthermore, it is important for parents and teachers to build positive relationships and students need to improve their self-determination motivation.
