신문 사설에 보도된 아동학대에 대한 담론 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 신문 사설에서 나타난 아동학대 담론 형성 과정과 담론의 특징을 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 우리나라 3대 신문사인 조선일보, 중앙일보, 동아일보에 게재된 사설 총 94건을 대상으로 분석을 실시하였다. 푸코의 담론 분석 이론에 초점을 두고 살펴본 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 신문 사설에서 아동학대 관련 주제는‘정치, 제도’,‘부모교육’,‘ 사회관심’,‘ 사회서비스’,‘ 인식개선’,‘ 소통’순으로나타났다. 둘째, 신문사설에서아동학대관련대상은‘정치인, 사회서비스종사자’,‘ 일반인’,‘ 부모’,‘ 교사’,‘ 법원종사자’순으로 나타났다. 셋째, 신문 사설에서 아동학대 관련 주체는‘언론계’, ‘작성자 미기재’, ‘교육계’, ‘의료계’, ‘‘논설위원’, 법조계’, ‘아동관련기관장’, ‘정계’,‘ 학부모’,‘ 종교계’순으로나타났다. 마지막으로신문사설에나타난아동학대 관련담론은‘사회의관심필요’,‘ 소통과신뢰를통한인식개선’,‘ 부모교육활성화 및 의무화’,‘ 종합적 사회 서비스 강화 및 개편’,‘ 무상보육 정책 재검토’,‘ 정부의 제도적보완과 지원 요구’로 나타났다. 본 연구는 신문 사설에 담겨 있는 아동학대 담론과 그 안에 내재된 의미가 무엇인지 분석하고자 하였다는 데에 의의가 있다. 이를 통해 아동학대 예방 및 대처를 위한 앞으로의 실천 방향을 모색하기 위한 기초자료로 활용될 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

The aim of the study is to investigate the discourse process and its characteristics on child abuse issues on the newspaper editorials. In order to conduct this study, we performed the analysis on 94 newspaper editorials published by the three major newspapers in Korea which are Chosun Ilbo, Joong-Ang Ilbo and Dong-A Ilbo. The study used Foucault’s theory of discourse analysis as a theoretical framework. The results are as follows. First, child-abuse related topics in the newspaper editorials were involved with political and institutional interests, parental education, social interest, social services, recognition improvement, and communication. Second, the objects of child abuse were politicians, social service workers, ordinary people, parents, teachers, and the court employees. Third, the main subjects of child abuse in the newspaper editorials were the media, unknown draftsmen, a whole educational community, editors, medical communities, legal circles, directors of child institution, a political world, parents and a religious world. Finally, child abuse-related discourses were the requirement of social concern, recognition improvement through communication and trust, activating and obliging parental education, strengthening and reorganizing comprehensive social services, reviewing free childcare policies, complementing and supporting the institutional system from the government. The results of this study can be used as a basis for preventing child abuse in the future and looking for new directions for practicing the related policies.
