유아교육기관에서의 담임 배정에 대한 원장과 교사의 인식 비교

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아교육기관(유치원, 어린이집)에서 이루어지고 있는 담임 배정의 실태를 알아보고, 유아교육기관의 원장과 교사의 담임 배정 시 고려해야 하는 기준을 비교함으로써 바람직한 담임 배정에 대한 기준과 절차를 마련하는 기초자료를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 수도권(서울시, 경기도, 인천시)에 소재한 유치원과 어린이집에 근무하고 있는 원장 119명과 교사 214명이 설문지 작성에 참여하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 담임 배정의 원칙을 마련하고 있는 기관이 많았고, 담임 배정을 위해 교사 의견을 수렴하고 있었는데 이때 담당하고 싶은 연령을 묻는 경우가 가장 많았다. 둘째, 원장과 교사가 담임 배정 시 중요하게 생각하는 기준은 유사했는데 두 집단 모두 최근 담당 연령을 가장 중요하게 생각했다. 원장과 교사가 생각하는 기준의 공통점과 차이점을 고려해 담임 배정 원칙을 마련할 경우, 원장, 교사 의견이 모두 반영된 담임 배정 원칙을 마련할 수 잇을 것이라 생각된다.

영문 초록

This research aims to find out the actual conditions of how teachers are assigned to classes in early childhood institutes (kindergartens, day-care centers), and to compare the thoughts of principals and teachers about the criteria they consider when assigning teachers to classes, in order to draw a base line data that provides advisable criteria and procedures for class teacher assignment. 119 principals and 214 teachers who work in early childhood institutes in the metropolitan area (Seoul, Gyeonggi-do Province, Incheon) participated in the questionnaire survey. As a result, first, many institutions had principles when assigning teachers to classes, and they gathered teachers’opinions when doing so, mostly focused on which age group they would like to take in charge of. Second, the criterion of class teacher assignment that both principals and teachers both considered most important was the age group of children the teacher was recently in charge of. If the similarities and differences of criteria that principals and teachers value are accepted in the arrangement of class teacher assignment principle, a principle that reflects opinions of both principals and teachers could be established.
