영문 초록

For the investigation of relationship between tardive dyskinesia and negative symptoms and cognitive function, tardive dyskinesia was evaluated by AIMS, negative symptoms by M anchester Scale. SANS, and cognitive function by MMSE in schizophrenic patients admitted to Seoul National Mental Hospital. The subjects were divided into two groups according to the presence(N rr32) or absence(N = 35) of tardive dyskinesia. The Results were as follows * 1) There was a significant difference in the duration of neuroleptic treatm ent between schizophrenic patients with and without tardive dyskinesia, but not in demographic characteristics, present illness, previous treatm ent history. 2) When the negative symptoms and cognitive function were compared with the schizophrenic patients with and without tardive dyskinesia, incoherence and irrelevance of speech of M anchester Scale and lack of vocal inflections, global rating of affective flattening, poverty of speech, poverty of content of speech, blocking, increased latency of response, global rating of alogia, grooming and hygiene, impersistence at work or school, physical anergia, global rating of avolition- apathy, recreational interests and activities, sexual interest and activity, ability to feel intimacy and closeness, relationship with friends and peers, global rating of anhedonia-asociality, social inattentiveness of SANS showed significant differenes between the two groups but not in MMSE score. 3) When the negative symptoms and cognitive function were compared with mild and severe group of tar dive dyskinesia, grooming and hygiene of SANS showed significant difference. 4) Anhedonia-Asociality of global rating of SANS, incoherence and irrelevance of speech of M anchester Scale, and unchanging facial expression, inapprorpiate affect, grooming and hygiene, physical anergia of detail items of SANS showed high discriminant power between schizophrenic patients with and without tar dive dyskinesia. 5) 6 factors were picked out by Factor Analysis of SANS, and the factor 2，which mainly composed of item s of Anhedonia-Asociality and Avolition-Apathy, showed high discriminant power between schizophrenic patients with and without tardive dyskinesia. 6 ) High correlations were detected by Canonical Correlation Analysis between jaw, upper extrem ities of AIMS and incoherence and irrelevance of speech of M anchester Scale, and between upper extrem ities of AIMS and Anhedonia-Asociality of SANS.
