예술 매체를 활용한 국내 코칭 연구 동향: 2014년부터 2024년까지 국내 학술지 및 학위논문 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 국내에서 발표된 예술 매체를 활용한 코칭 연구의 동향을 분석함으로써 예술과 코칭의 융합이 갖는 학문적 정체성을 강화하고, 향후 연구의 활성화를 위한 방향성과 전략을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2014년부터 2024년까지 10년간 발표된 국내 학술지 및 석·박사학위 논문 총 171편을 분석 대상으로 선정하였으며, 연구의 연도별·형태별·대상별·주제별·예술 매체별 경향을 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연도별로는 2020년 이후 연구의 증가세가 두드러졌으며, 이는 사회·교육 환경 변화에 따른 예술매체 기반 코칭의 필요성이 확산한 것으로 해석된다. 둘째, 형태별로는 학술지 논문이 학위논문보다 다소 높은 비중을 차지하며, 이는 학술지가 연구의 타당성과 연구의 질적 우수성을 점검하는 데 있어서 공신력 있는 체계이자 연구 결과 확산의 표준 통로로 기능하기 때문이다. 셋째, 대상별 연구 동향에서는 가족 대상 연구가 가장 높은 비중을 차지하였고, 청소년 대상 연구가 뒤를 이었다. 이는 언어적 표현이 미성숙한 유· 아동의 발달 특성상 미술·놀이와 같은 비언어적으로 자기표현이 가능한 예술 매체의 활용이 활발하게 이루어졌음을 나타낸다. 넷째, 연구 주제는 프로그램 개발과 코칭 심리 관련 주제가 주를 이루었으며, 이는 예술매체 기반 심리 코칭의 실질적 적용 가능성을 확인하고, 현장에서 직접 사용할 수 있는 구체적 프로그램을 마련하려는 요구가 크다는 것을 보여준다. 다섯째, 예술 매체는 미술과 문학· 독서· 그림책의 활용 비율이 가장 높았고, 이는 재료적 접근성과 참여자에게 익숙하고 활용성이 높은 매체를 중심으로 연구가 이루어졌음을 의미한다. 본 연구는 예술 매체 기반 코칭 연구의 현황을 체계적으로 조망하고, 향후 다양한 매체와 대상, 환경으로의 확장 가능성을 논의하며, 관련 분야의 학문적 기반 구축에 기초 자료로서 기여하고자 한다.

영문 초록

This study aims to strengthen the academic identity of the convergence between art and coaching by analyzing the research trends of art-media–based coaching studies published in Korea and to propose future directions and strategies for further research activation. For this purpose, a total of 171 studies-academic journal articles and master’s and doctoral theses-published from 2014 to 2024 were selected and analyzed. The analysis focused on the trends by tear, research type, subject group, topic, and type of art medium used. The results are as follows.First, the number of studies increased markedly after 2020, which can be interpreted as a growing recognition of the necessity for art-media-based coaching in response to changing social and educational environments.Second, journal articles accounted for a slightly higher proportion than theses, suggesting that academic journals function as credible systems for verifying research validity and quality, as well as serving as standard channels for disseminating research outcomes. Third, in terms of research participants, studies targeting families showed the highest proportion, followed by studies on adolescents. This indicates that the use of art media such as art and play-which enable nonverbal self-expression-has been particularly active due to the developmental characteristics of young children with immature verbal expression. Fourth, the main research topics were program development and coaching psychology, reflecting a strong demand for confirming the practical applicability of art-media-based psychological coaching and for developing concrete programs that can be implemented in the field. Fifth, among the types of art media, visual art literature, reading, and picture books were the most frequently used, suggesting that researchers favored media with high material accessility and familiarity to participants. Overall, this study provides a systematic overview of the current status of art-media-based coaching research, discusses the potential for expansion across diverse media, participants, and contexts, and contributes foundational data for establishing an academic basis for the field.
