Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the research trends of nursing interventions for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) from 2015 to 2025, focusing on the types and conceptual changes of interventions reported in domestic and international literature.
Method: A descriptive analysis was conducted on 52 articles related to COPD nursing interventions published between 2015 and 2025. Data were collected through searches of domestic (DBpia) and international (PubMed) academic databases using relevant keywords. Articles were analyzed in terms of publication year, nursing intervention type, conceptual focus, and research design.
Results: The most frequent intervention type was self-management support (36.5%), which increased steadily over the study period, followed by pulmonary rehabilitation (26.9%), and digital health-based interventions (17.3%). The rise of digital interventions reflects technological advances and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Key concepts included nursing intervention, self-efficacy, rehabilitation, and quality of life, indicating a growing focus on patient-centered care and multi-disciplinary approaches. Quantitative research predominated, with true experimental designs being most common.
Conclusion: Recent trends in COPD nursing intervention research demonstrate a transition toward patient-centered, technology-integrated care, emphasizing self-management and accessibility. Future studies should focus on evaluating the effectiveness of specific interventions, expanding digital health applications, and developing community-based, multidisciplinary care models. These directions are expected to enhance quality of life for COPD patients and contribute to clinical practice, education, and health policy development.
