투자형 재테크가 청년의 자산 형성에 미치는 영향: 서울 청년들을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 서울 거주 청년들의 자산 형성 과정에서 재테크 참여 유형과 재테크 종류가 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 서울연구원의 ｢서울청년패널｣ 데이터를 활용하였으며, 분석은 2단계로 구성되었다. 1단계에서는 잠재집단분석(Latent Class Analysis)을 통해 청년들의 재테크 참여 유형을 균형추구형, 기회추구형, 안정추구형의 세 집단으로 분류하였다. 이어서 2단계에서는 패널회귀분석을 실시하여 각 재테크 유형 및 재테크 종류가 가구 자산 형성에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 분석 결과, 기회추구형 재테크 집단은 안정추구형 집단에 비해 자산 형성에 유의미한 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 균형추구형 집단은 안정추구형 집단과 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 아울러 재테크 종류 중에서는 부동산 재테크가 자산 형성에 가장 강한 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 이러한 결과는 청년들의 자산 형성 경로를 이해하고, 청년들의 맞춤형 정책 설계에 중요한 시사점을 제공한다.

영문 초록

This study examines how different types and patterns of investment activities affect asset accumulation among young adults residing in Seoul. Utilizing data from the Seoul Youth Panel Survey conducted by the Seoul Institute, the analysis is structured in two stages. In the first stage, Latent Class Analysis (LCA) was employed to categorize youth into three distinct financial behavior groups: Balanced-Oriented, Opportunity-Seeking, and Stability-Seeking investors. In the second stage, a panel regression analysis was conducted to assess the effects of each investment type and category on household asset accumulation. The findings reveal that the Opportunity-Seeking group shows a statistically significant positive impact on asset formation compared to the Stability-Seeking group. In contrast, the Balanced-Oriented group does not demonstrate a significant difference relative to the Stability-Seeking group. Furthermore, among various investment types, real estate investment was found to have the most substantial influence on asset growth. These results highlight the differentiated effects of investment behaviors on wealth accumulation and provide critical implications for developing tailored policy interventions that reflect the diverse financial strategies of young adults in urban contexts.
