국문 초록

본 연구는 이미지 생성형 인공지능의 급격한 발전이 문화콘텐츠의 생태계에 미치는 영향에 대해서 국내외 학계에서는 어떠한 논의가 이루어지고 있는지 파악하고자 대표적인 이미지 생성형 AI인 미드저니 (Midjourney)와 관련된 국내외의 연구 동향을 분석하였다. 국내 논문 87편과 해외 논문 155편을 내용 분석한 결과‘디자인/예술 창작, 교육 분야 적용, 산업 활용, 기술적 특성, 윤리적 문제, 철학적 고찰, 사용자 인식, 복합 연구’와 같이 8가지 주요 연구 주제로 분류되었다. 분석 결과, 국내외 모두 디자인 및 교육 분야에서의 이미지 생성형 AI의 활 용에 대한 관심이 높았으나, 해외 연구는 윤리적·이론적 논의와 사용자 경험 관련 연구에 있어 훨씬 더 폭넓고 심층적인 경향을 보였다. 이 는 생성형 AI의 사회적 영향에 대한 국제적 관심이 크다는 점을 시사한다. 이에 본 연구는 국내 학계가 실용적 논의에서 나아가 윤리적· 학제적 관점을 포괄하는 방향으로 연구의 지평을 넓혀야 함을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes domestic and international research trends related to the representative text-to-image generative AI tool, Midjourney, in order to understand how the rapid advancement of generative AI is being discussed in academic discourse regarding its impact on the cultural content ecosystem. A content analysis of 87 Korean and 155 international academic papers revealed eight major research themes: design and artistic creation, educational applications, industrial use, technical characteristics, ethical issues, philosophical reflections, user perception, and multidisciplinary studies. The analysis showed that while both domestic and international research emphasized design and education, international studies demonstrated a broader and more in-depth engagement with ethical, theoretical, and user experience-related topics. This suggests a growing global concern over the societal impact of generative AI. Based on these findings, the study recommends that Korean academia expand its research scope beyond practical applications to include ethical and interdisciplinary perspectives.
