본 연구에서는 March(1991)의 조직학습 이론에서 제시한 활용과 탐구 전략이 공급사슬 회복탄력성에 미치는 영향을 실증하여 이를 위한 효율적인 전략을 제공하고자 한다. 더불어 기존의 활용과 탐구 전략이 대립 관계에서 벗어나 양면성의 관점에서 동시 추구가 가능하다는 논의가 제기됨에 따라, 활용과 탐구 전략을 동시에 추구하는 양면성 전략이 공급사슬 회복탄력성에 미치는 영향 역시 실증하고자 한다. 328개 국내 제조기업 표본으로 분석을 수행한 결과, 활용 전략과 탐구 전략은 회복탄력성에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 반면, 양면성 전략은 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 본 연구의 결과는 양면성 전략의 효과에 대한 기존 논의에 모순되는 실증적 증거로써, 공급사슬의 회복탄력성 관점에서는 활용과 탐구 전략을 동시에 추구하는 양면성 전략은 오히려 자원의 분산과 관리의 복잡성을 야기시켜 효과적이지 않고 하나의 전략을 선택하여 집중하는 것이 보다 효율적인 전략이 될 수 있다는 실무적인 지침을 제공한다.

영문 초록

This study aims to empirically examine the effects of exploitation and exploration strategies, as proposed by March (1991) in organizational learning theory, on supply chain resilience, thereby providing efficient strategies for enhancing resilience. Furthermore, considering discussions that suggest exploitation and exploration strategies can be pursued simultaneously from an ambidextrous perspective, rather than being mutually exclusive, this study also seeks to empirically test the impact of ambidextrous strategies on supply chain resilience. The analysis, conducted on a sample of 328 domestic manufacturing firms, reveals that while both exploitation and exploration strategies positively impact resilience, the ambidextrous strategy does not have a significant effect. These findings provide empirical evidence contrary to the existing discussions on the effectiveness of ambidextrous strategies. They offer practical guidance, indicating that the simultaneous pursuit of exploitation and exploration strategies can lead to resource dispersion and management complexity from a supply chain resilience perspective. Thus, a focus on selective strategies may be more efficient.
