국문 초록

The primary objective of this study is to analyze the determinants associated with quality of life of married immigrant women residing in rural areas and to provide recommendations for future interventions to enhance their quality of life. An Ordered Probit analysis was conducted using data from the 2018 Nationwide Multicultural Family Survey. The results of the analysis revealed that several factors, including household income, proficiency in the Korean language, overall health, satisfaction with their spouse, social relationships, participation in community activities, duration of residence, economic activity, number of children, difficulties encountered when accessing institutional services, and experiences of social discrimination are all significantly correlated with their quality of life. Conversely, variables such as education level, the age difference between couples, participation in social services, and access to welfare facilities do not exhibit a statistically significant association with their quality of life. The study's findings suggest that the following interventions could be effective in improving their quality of life: assessing the effectiveness of existing social service programs and ensuring the convenience of access to welfare facilities; adapting social networks and language education in rural communities; conducting both quantitative and qualitative studies focused on rural multicultural communities. These interventions have potential to contribute to raising awareness of the importance of multiculturalism and the necessity of supporting immigrant communities.
