공손성 판단에 영향을 미치는 미시적 요인의 질적 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 개별 의사소통 상황에서 공손성 판단에 영향을 미치는 미시적 요인을 탐구하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 20대 한국인 모어 화자를 대상으로 지시적 화행이 수행된 드라마 장면을 확장적으로 제시하여, 대화참여자와 관련된 정보, 사회문화적 지식, 반언어적ㆍ비언어적 표현이 공손성 판단에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지 귀납적으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과 개별 의사소통 상황에서는 대화참여자와 관련된 과거 상황이나 정보, 사회화 과정에서 보유하게 된 개인의 사회문화적 인식, 그리고 말투, 표정, 행동과 같은 반언어적ㆍ비언어적 표현 등의 미시적 공손판단요인이 위계 관계나 친소 관계처럼 일반적이고 보편적인 요인보다 중요한 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 확인하였다. 이 연구는 공손성 연구에 있어 사회문화적이 필수적으로 고려되어야 함을 시사한다. 또한 공손성 판단의 상황 특수성을 강조함으로써 보다 실제적이고 복합적인 상호작용을 연구 대상으로 하는 미시적 공손판단요인에 대한 탐구의 필요성을 제시한다.

영문 초록

This study aims to explore the micro-level factors influencing politeness judgments in individual communication situations. By expansively presenting a drama scene that features directive speech acts to native Korean speakers in their 20s, this study inductively analyzed how information related to the interlocutor, sociocultural knowledge, and nonverbal expressions affect politeness judgments. The results showed that in individual communication situations, micro-level politeness determinants such as past situations and information related to the interlocutors, sociocultural knowledge acquired through socialization, and semi-verbal or nonverbal expressions such as voice tone, facial expressions, and behavior can be more important than general and universal factors such as hierarchy and kinship. Thus, sociocultural factors must be considered in politeness research. By emphasizing the situational specificity of politeness judgments, the findings highlight the need to explore micro-politeness determinants based on more realistic and complex interactions.
