국문 초록

The study aimed to empirically examine the relationships between the parent-child bonding and the children's ego-resiliency. Subjects were 310 male and female 6th children in elementary school. Data were collected with structured questionnaire and analyzed by SPSS. The main findings of the study were as follows. First, the parent-bonding relationships according to the children's gender showed statistically significant differences in maternal overprotection. The levels of children's ego-resiliency according to children's gender showed that girls were higher than boys especially in respect with interpersonal relationships. The girls thought that they got positive concerns continuously from other people and had a good relationship with them. Second, there were statistically significant differences between the male gender and maternal care, maternal overprotection, and paternal care. And the correlations were found between the female gender and paternal care and maternal care. Therefore, the parental care such as the paternal care and maternal care for the both genders had positive relationships with children's ego-resiliency. However, there were slight differences for the genders in that boys have negative relationships with the maternal overprotection, compared with girls. In general, there was a remarkable evidence of differences about parent-child bonding relationship by genders that the maternal care more affects boys whereas paternal care more affects girls.
