Architectural models were produced with 5 representative 3D printing methods, and it was investigated how the visual excellence, manufacturing cost and time, precision and durability vary according to each method. For 47 architects, this research investigated what is the most important factor and the preference of which method is the most visually superior when manufacturing architectural models using the 3D printing method rather than the conventional method, and investigated which method is most preferred when considering all quantitative and qualitative factors. As a result of the survey, it was found that architects prefer the method that can produce visually superior models over other factors such as cost, time, precision, and durability when selecting a 3D printing method. In addition, considering the surface texture, color, roughness, and surface gloss of the product, it was found that the model manufactured by the MJF(MultiJet Fusion) method is not only visually superior, but also significantly superior to other methods when all other quantitative and qualitative factors are considered. Next, the architectural models manufactured in the order of SLS, SLA, FDM, and PJP methods were preferred.
