영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to recognize and mean the 'process' as a real time as an alternative to human existential possibilities that are limited in modern society. It explores how to express this through furniture and prepares the theoretical and formative foundation for expanding it to the furniture series. The study examines Bergson's discussion of duration, movement, and creation as a philosophical background for concepts. As a formative background, the case and type of Process Art that themed the process of making a work itself are analyzed. Based on the above theoretical studies, furniture design for visual expression of the process was studied using ebonizing and carving techniques. These two techniques are physical evidence of behavior, integrating the journey of the process as it is, and expressing the existing attitude. It also has the potential to expand to the furniture series, producing results of a formatively concise tone and a detailed carved surface. It is hoped that this study will serve as a basis for exploring the possibility of art furniture as an expression of thought and preparing a type for the visual expression of the process in the field of woodworking.
