영문 초록

Haydn has a number of values in the music history. One of them is the outstanding structure of movements in Symphonies. The structures of movements in his symphonies are very various. Those of them mostly have three movements: fast-slow-fast. The late standard form is the four-movement pattern: fast-slow-minuet-fast. In nos. 5 and 11, the slow movement comes first, producing its sequences in the slow-fast-Minuet-fast structure. Most of the symphonies written in the period while Haydn was the Esterházy's vice-kapellmeister(1761-5) are in these four movements, even though a few are written in three movements. Another pattern of movements in Haydn's has a slow introduction followed by a fast section in the first movement. The slow introduction was almost always used in the late “London”Symphonies. It is thought that the structures of movements in Haydn's Symphonies consist of the three movements (fast-slow-fast) and the four movements (slow Introduction/fast-slow-Minuet-fast). In this study, however, it is found that there are much more diverse structures of movements in Haydn's Symphonies. for example, there are mostly patterns of three movements, fast-slow-fast or slow-fast-slow. In addition to these are the more diverse patterns of the four movements;fast-slow-minuet-fast or slow introduction/fast-slow-Minuet and finally fast movement. But there might be even more variations in Haydn's Symphonies such as fast-Minuet-slow-fast or slow-fast-Minuet-fast etc.
