통전적 기독교교육 모형에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 논문의 목적은 최근에 신학은 물론 일반 학문분야에서 널리 사용되고 있는 ‘통전성’에 관한 개념과 의미에 대한 역사적 발전과정을 살펴본 후에, 오늘날 기독교교육학의 바람직한 통전적 기독교교육 모형에 관하여 연구하려는 것이다. 이제까지 일반 학문은 물론 신학의 탐구대상으로서 인간과 세계 내의 실재에 대한 과학적 인식과 세계관은 18세기 데카르트－뉴튼의 인식론에 기초한 선형적, 기계론적 과학주의로서 인간 현상과 세계 실재에 대하여 주체와 객체의 분리, 곧 인간과 사물, 이성과 직관, 몸과 마음을 분리하게 하는 사고와 태도를 갖게 하였고, 더 나아가 신앙의 세계에서도 하나님과 인간, 신앙과 과학, 성과 속, 신앙과 삶을 이원론적으로 분리하여 인식하는 분열된 삶의 양식을 조장해 왔다. 그러나 20세기의 아인슈타인, 막스 플랑크, 베르너 하이젠베르크 등에 의하여 형성된 상대성 이론과 양자물리학에 기초하여 등장한 신과학운동의 유기체적 인식과 세계관은 세계 내의 모든 실재들이 상호 유기적으로 연결되어 있다는 유기론적, 공동체적, 그리고 인격적인 세계관을 새롭게 제시하였다. 이러한 유기체적 세계관은 20세기 미국의 물리학자 프리초프 카프라에 의하여 전세계적으로 확산되었는데, 물리학, 생물학, 심리학, 교육학은 물론 과학과는 적대적으로 거리를 두었던 신학분야까지 광범위하게 영향을 끼쳤다. 특히, 신학에서 신과학운동에 기초한 유기체적 세계관에 대한 관심은 20세기 현대성의 위기의 한 현상으로서 나타나는 세계 내의 실재 인식과 인간의 삶에 나타난 분열성과 파편화의 현상, 곧 이원론적 인식과 삶의 형태들에 대한 극복 대안으로서 ‘통전성’에 대한 신학적 성찰이었으며, 신학과 과학의 대화 모색이었다. 이러한 맥락에서 연구자가 제시하는 통전적 기독교교육 모형은 18세기의 고전적 과학주의의 영향에 기인하는 현대인들의 분열되고, 파편화된 신앙과 삶의 현상들을 극복하려는 차원에서 20세기에 등장한 신과학운동의 유기체론적 세계관에 기초한 기독교교육의 새로운 접근 가능성을 탐구한 것이다. 연구자가 제시한 바람직한 통전적 기독교교육의 모형은 기독교적 관점에서 모든 만물의 창조자이신 하나님을 중심으로 하나님－인간－사회문화－자연이라는 제 차원들이 상호 유기적으로 연결되어 있다는 인식아래 인간의 변화와 성장을 추구하는 인격적, 공동체적 접근이 그 특징이라고 하겠다.

영문 초록

This article shall discuss about a model of the wholistic christian education in the context of korean protestant church, related the term ‘the wholistic/integrity’ that used widely in academic studies recently. Above of all, I investigate the meaning of the term in its developmental history, ‘the wholistic/integrity’ in academic studies fields, humane studies, natural science, and social science. Dualism due to Cartesian epistemology and Newtonian classical scientism in the 18th century have evoked dualistic thought and life style in modern times. This dualistic views based on the linear thinking and mechanical scientism make modern man to think and do separately between the subject and the object, human being and things, reason and intuition, and body and mind. Furthermore, it also make christians’ life style in belief world to think and do separately between God and man, belief and science, the divine and the secular, too. These separated thinking make our life promote the divided and the fragmented life in our modern times. Meanwhile, New thinking showed up in the 20th century, which idea called the wholistic view(in other name the organismic world view) that contains a meaning of combining one reality as a whole system from the separated and divided realities in the world. In the 20th century, Fritjof Capra, the new science movement american physician, suggested the organismic world view based on the Einstein’s theory and Planck’s quantum theory. It has been spread widely across not only the secular academic studies but also theology. When theological studies accepts this organismic world view, it means that a kind of paradigm shift in their thinking structure. Actually, such views and concerns on the organismic world view in theology are reflected to try to find something alternatives to overcome the divided and fragmented life style in the modern times, caused from Cartesian epistemology and Newtonian classical scientism. The emerging term ‘the wholistic/integrity’ in the 20th century contains some implications in christian education as practical theology, which the wholistic idea means the alternatives against to the divided and dualistic life style in christian view. And also it means a kind of theological reflection and try to find a dialogue between theology and science. In conclusion, I insisted that the wholistic christian education model need to understand four factors, ‘God-men-the socio-cultural-nature’ are closely related each others to the created world by God. And also it is needed to personal, communal approach in educational activities for change and growth for christian spiritual formation in the wholistic view.
