국문 초록

이 논문에서는 헤이안시대 일본에서 필사된 『한원』의 서지와 필사과정에 대해 검토하였다. 1974년에 太宰府天滿宮에서 복제한 『한원』(권자본)은 세로 27.3㎝, 본문 길이 1,566.5㎝이며 裝潢을 포함한 全長은 1,626.2㎝이다. 현존 『한원』은 필사된 28장의 종이를 이어 붙여서 제작된 두루마리 형태이다. 接紙를 위해 네 변을 자른 후에 가로 57.5㎝, 세로 27.3㎝가 되는 종이가 필사지의 기본 크기였다. 이 용지의 크기는 율령반포 이후 8세기 초반에 사용된 唐大尺[小尺] 기준으로 가로 2척, 세로 1척이었다. 倭國篇부터는 이전 편과 달리 필체가 바뀌었는데 이것은 필사자의 교체가 일어났기 때문이었다. 『한원』은 접지를 위해 改行하면서 일부 형태가 변형된 사례가 있지만 저본의 형태를 최대한 유지하면서 필사가 이루어졌다. 그런 점에서 『한원』에 보이는 誤脫과 缺落은 필사과정에서 발생한 것이 아니라 저본의 오류였을 가능성이 높다.

영문 초록

This article examines the bibliographic characteristics and the process of transcription of the Literati Garden(Hanyuan/Kan’en 翰苑) copied in Heian period Japan. The scroll-edition Literati Garden reproduced in Dazaifu Tenman-gu 太宰府天滿宮 in 1974 is 27.3㎝ in height, 1,566.6㎝ in the length of the text, and 1,626.2㎝ in total length including decorative margins. The transmitted manuscript of the Literati Garden has the form of a scroll made by attaching 28 transcribed sheets of paper. The basic size of the paper for transcription is 57.5㎝ by 27.3㎝ excluding the blanks on the four sides for pasting. The size of the paper is 2 chi by 1 chi in terms of xiaochi 小尺 of Tang long measure which was adopted after the promulgation of the Statutes and Ordinances(ritsuryō 律令) in Japan. The change in the handwriting, compared to the preceding chapters, seen in the Waiguo 倭國 chapter suggests a replacement of the scribe. Except for some cases, such as changing the line breaks to attach the paper, the transcribing process of the Literati Garden was successful in keeping the form of the original copy to the fullest. In this regard, the errors and omissions found in the scroll-edition Literati Garden are highly likely to have been from the original copy, not from the copying process.
