국문 초록

본 연구는 정신장애인이 경험한 신체의 자유 제한을 하나의 현상으로 보고 이 현상의 구체적 의미를 탐색하였고 이러한 경험이 정신장애인 당사자의 삶에 어떤 영향을 주었는지에 대해 심층인터뷰를 실시하였다. 주요 결과는 연구 참여자의 정신과 입원 경험은 양면성을 가지고 있는 것과 시간의 흐름에 따라 입원상황에서 퇴원 후 상황으로 연결되는 일련의 과정이 구체적으로 표현 되었고 입원생활 중 격리 · 강박에 대한 신체의 자유 제한 경험은 자신의 경험을 포함해 타인의 상황에 대한 제3자의 해석적 의미가 나타났다. 입원생활 이후 연구 참여자는 재활과정을 통해 자신의 삶에 변화를 시도하였고 기자단 활동을 하며 인권옹호 활동에 관심을 갖게 되었다. 이는 신체의 자유 제한경험 이후 현재의 삶에서 자유의지를 재정립하고 자신의 목소리를 반영할 창구를 찾기 위해 삶이 어떻게 변화되고 있는지, 그 변화의 의미는 무엇인지 보여준다. 본 연구를 통해 정신장애인의 관점에서 신체의 자유 제한과 관련된 독특하면서 복합적으로 내재된 의미가 생생하게 전달될 수 있길 바란다. 또한 정신보건환경이 치료와 재활의 관점을 넘어 정신장애를 가진 당사자가 지역사회 구성원의 한 사람으로 보편적 인권을 누리며 함께 살아갈 수 있는 준비와 변화를 도모하는 노력에 보탬이 될 수 있기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the limitations of freedom of the body experienced by people with mental disabilities as a phenomenon and to explore the specific meaning of this phenomenon and to conduct an in depth interview about how this experience affected the lives of the mentally disabled. The main results were that the psychiatric and hospitalization experience of the study participants had a double-sidedness and that a series of processes leading from the admission situation to the post-discharge situation was expressed in accordance with the passage of time, the third person s interpretive meaning about the situation of the other person was including his own experience appeared. After the inpatient life, research participants tried to change their lives through rehabilitation process, became reporters, and became interested in human rights advocacy. It shows how life has changed since the body s liberal-restricted experiences to redefine free and find a window to reflect one s voice. Through this study, we hoped that the unique and complex inherent meaning related to the restriction of the freedom of the body from the viewpoint of the mentally disabled is vividly transmitted. It is hoped that the mental health environment could contribute to efforts to prepare and change the people with mental disabilities beyond the viewpoint of treatment and rehabilitation to enjoy universal human rights as a member of community members and to live together.
