영문 초록

This study aims to examine the factors that can be responsible for influencing language learners’ resistance to mobile-assisted language learning (MALL). The use of mobile technology is increasing in English learning. In response to this trend, various studies on English learning in the mobile environment have been conducted. However, there is little research on the resistance of EFL learners that do not use such mobile technologies for learning English. To achieve the purpose of this research, the proposed research model incorporates learners’ innovation -propensity factors (value barrier, perceived risk, traditions and norms, and existing usage patterns) and their impact on EFL learners’ resistance to MALL. A questionnaire survey was administered to college students in five universities in order to test the hypotheses proposed in the research model. A structural model was formed using AMOS 22.0. Results show that all proposed hypotheses are supported with acceptable statistical levels. Finally, various implications from this study are discussed for both academics and practitioners.
