국문 초록

본 연구에서는 현재 교회학교 교사로 봉사하고 있는 다양한 수준의 교회학교 교사들에 대하여 그들의 내러티브를 중심으로 한 심층면담의 질적인 접근을 통하여 한국 교회의 교사들의 내러티브가 무엇이며, 어떠한 요소들이 그들의 문제 및 딜레마와 관련되어있는지를 도출하고자 하였다. 이는 교회학교 및 교회교육의 질적 개선을 위한 핵심적인 역할을 담당하고 있는 교회학교 교사들의 문제 파악과 개선을 위한 기초자료를 제공해줄 것이며, 한국 교회학교의 개선을 이끌 수 있는 주요한 시사점을 제공할 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구의 핵심적인 연구방법론인 질적연구방법론의 적용과 Nvivo 분석을 통하여 분석한 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, “1인 5역 … 떠나고 싶다” : 소수에 집중된 교회 봉사, 둘째,“ 저는 부족한 교사…” : 교사로서의 전문성 부족에 따른 자신감 결여, 셋째, “지금 목사님과 예전 목사님” : 교역자의 잦은 변동, 넷째, “우리안의 Confligere” : 부서 구성원간의 갈등 그리고 그로 인한 팀워크 붕괴, 다섯째, “담임목사님과 장로님의 말 한마디” : 지원의 부재, 여섯째, “장로님, 집사님 가정이 더해요” : 교회와 가정의 불일치, 일곱째, “말씀 가르치기가 없습니다.” : 말씀 및 교리중심 교육의 부재로 인한 정체성 혼란이었다. 이를 바탕으로 한국 교회학교 교사들의 딜레마가 결국은 교사 자신의 개인수준, 교사가 속한 교회의 수준, 교사가 봉사하는 학생들이 속한 가정 수준의 맥락을 통해 구성되고 있음을 확인 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research is to analyze the dilemmas of church school teachers in Korea. The results of analysis can lead us to understand the inner reality of teachers’experiences or cultures and interaction between church school in the complicated Korean churches. This study is conducted through depth interview with church school teachers and pastors and through an analysis of the qualitative materials which are the data from in-depth interviews, field notes and materials, all of which is analyzed by NVivo, which is one of CAQDAS(Computer-Aided Qualitative Data Analysis Software). NVivo has been popular a data analysis method nowadays because it provides clear data analysis with regard to how they interview, how they question the participants and how they analyze the qualitative materials. The research results present the narrative of the 20 participants. Based on these narrative, I identified the dilemmas of church school teachers in Korea. These critical factors of include church volunteers focused on a small number, lack of confidence due to lack of expertise as a teacher, frequent changes of ministers, conflicts between members and the resulting collapse of teamwork, lack of church support, inconsistencies in the church and home(parents), and identity crisis due to the lack of catechesis. Based on this results, I proposal policy and strategy to improve dilemmas of church school teachers in Korea.
