국문 초록

측정동일성은 유의미한 집단비교를 가능케 하는 검사지의 한 특징으로서 심리학 및 교육학 분야의 연구에서 중요하게 다루어지고 있다. 검사지 내 기준문항이 집단 간 동일하게 작용하지 않으면 이는 문항수준에서의 측정동일성, 즉 차별기능에 대한 부정확한 추론을 일으킬 수 있다. 본 논문은 effects-coded 척도법을 차별기능 분석을 위한 평균공분산구조모형에 적용시켜, 이러한 기법이 기준문항의 편향으로 인한 문제를 완화시킬 수 있는지 평가하였다. 시뮬레이션 연구결과는 effects-coded 척도법이 기존의 marker-variable 척도법보다 선호되지만 추가연구가 보완되어야 함을 제시하고 있다.

영문 초록

Measurement invariance is a critical issue in psychological and educational research because it is often required for meaningful group comparisons. A designated, unbiased anchor is desired for any invariance analysis, because the bias in an innocuously chosen anchor may lead to erroneous conclusions about item-level invariance, or equivalently, differential item functioning (DIF). This article presents an application of the effects-coded scaling as an alternative to the conventional, marker-variable scaling in mean and covariance structure (MACS) DIF analysis. By means of Monte Carlo simulation, this article examined if this new approach possibly leverages the problems of a biased anchor. Simulation results suggest that the effects-coded method provides some favorable outcomes over the marker-variable method bur more research is needed to refine MACS DIP analysis.
