영문 초록

Purpose: This study was to explore the frequency of phlebitis and the risk factors of target people who are being treated with fluid therapy. Method: The data was collected through 210 patients above 25 years old, from May 28, 2008 to September 18, 2008. The data was analyzed by frequency, percentage, χ²-test, logistic regression analysis using SPSS WIN 12.0 program. Results: 1. Subjects with many experiences of being hospitalized in the past, number of hospital admission and digestive apparatus trouble showed the statistically significant difference(p<.05) in the incidence of phlebitis. 2. The incidence of phlebitis was significantly different(p<.05) according to period of intravenous injection and injection medicine, insertion frequency, size of needle, hypertonic solution, medicine for ulcer and expectorant. 3. Analyzing phlebitis risk factors using the logistic regression analysis, the factor, such as age, hospital experience, intravenous injection duration, and the size of a needle. Conclusion: As stated above, age, the hospital admission, and the duration of intravenous injection can cause phlebitis. It is educated to the nurses about systematic intravenous injection management according to patient characteristics.
