아동의 의사소통의도 습득에 대한 종단연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 한국어의 특성을 고려하여, (1) 한국 아동의 언어발달 초기 및 후기 시기까지 포함할 수 있는 의사소통의도 분류체계를 제시하고, (2) 이 분류체계를 적용한 종단관찰자료를 통하여, 한 낱말에서 두 낱말로 발달하는 시기에 나타나는 의사소통의도 유형과 산출형태를 고찰하는데 있다. 본 연구에 사용된 아동의 의사소통의도 분석체계는 요구, 반응, 객관적 언급, 주관적 진술, 메세지 수신표현, 구성요소, 그리고 발전적 표현의 7가지 상위범주로 구성되었으며, 총 39개의 하위범주로 분류하였다. 19개월에서 24개월까지 한 아동의 의사소통의도를 종단관찰한 결과, 의사소통의도의 산출유형은 '몸짓+발성' 의 형태가 20개월 이후부터 급격히 감소하여, 거의 모든 의사소통의도가 말 의 형태로 산출되었다. 산출형태는, 관찰초기에는 반응과 요구가 전체 의사소통의도의 약 60%를 차지하였으나, 연령이 증가할수록 그 비율이 점차적으로 감소한 반면, 언급과 진술의 비율은 점차적으로 증가하였다. 또한 연령의 증가에 따라 산출하는 의사소통의도의 하위범주가 점차 다양해져, 24개월까지 거의 모든 하위범주의 의사소통의도 유형이 나타났다. 그러나, 사물의 기능을 나타내는 행동/언급인 기능 , 부인/반대 의 메시지 수신표현 및 화자선택 의 3가지 기능은 이 시기에 나타나지 않았다.

영문 초록

The present s tudy aimed to (1) propos e a sys tem for obs erving and coding Kor ean children s communicative intentions cover ing from ear ly to late language developmental s tages and to (2) inves tigate the types and modes of communicative intentions from one- word to two- word utter ance s tages by us ing the sys tem. The inventory of communicative intentions to code the childr en s intentional communication included r eques t , r espons e, comment , s tatement, acknowledgement , organization device and advanced speech acts which wer e further divided into a total of 39 subcategor ies . It was found that the verbal mode of communication was predominant. with dr amatical decr eas ing of ges tur e + vocal mode of communication at the age of 20 months . In terms of the types of communicative intentions , r espons e and r eques t wer e produced mos t fr equently in the ear lier per iod. However , the proportions of respons e and r eques t decr eas ed and comment and s tatement incr eas ed as the age incr eas ed. The older childr en demons trated var ied modes of communicative intentions including all subcategor ies s tudied except for the functions of dis approval, dis agr eement , and speaker s election."
