국문 초록

인간은 자신의 기능을 확장시키고 자연을 극복하고자 하는 의지로 기능과 미가 결합된 새로운 도구들을 만들어 왔다. 그 중에서 장신구는 전통적으로 인체나 의상에 착용되어 조화를 이루고 환금성과 장식적인 용도로 사용되어 왔으나, 현대 장신구 작가들은 이런 진부한 전제조건의 한계성을 극복하고 장신구의 새로운 조형 형태에 대한 추구와 문화적 메시지를 담고 있는 예술적 조형물로 창조하고 있다. 본 연구는 움직임을 조형 요소로 탐구하는 키네틱 아트를 배경으로 하고 있다. 그리고 키네틱 아트의 기원과 발달，20세기 초부터 현재까지 국내외 작가들이 연구하는 키네틱 아트와 장신구 연구 또한 포함하고 있다. 그리고 기존의 정적인 장신구에 움직임을 부여함으로써 장신구와 인체와의 상호 작용성을 실현하는 흥미로운 시도가 될 것 이라고 믿는다. 키네틱 장신구를 제작하기 위해서는 기술적 창의성과 재능 뿐 아니라 기술공학에 대한 지식 및 재료의 특성을 이해하고 무엇보다도 신체의 일부분에 착용되어지는 작은 조형물이기에 뛰어난 세공 기술과 구조, 움직임을 일으키는 메카니즘의 공학적 지식, 심미적 감각과 형태에 대한 직관력이 필요하다. 키네틱 장신구는 아직도 시도되지 않은 수많은 기술적 가능성을 잠재적으로 갖고 있으며 ‘테크놀로지 세기’에 살고 있는 이 시대의 작가들은‘움직임’을 넘어서 테크놀로지와 접목된 새로운 시도가 계속되기 위한 가능성을 제시하고자 함이다.

영문 초록

Man has made new tools which are combined with both ability and beauty to overcome the Nature and maximize his ability . Among the tools, an jewelry has been worn on the clothes for the harmony and decoration. However, in these days, modern accessory artists have tried to exceed these trite limits and then create a work of arti stic value with cultural messages in fresh figurative forms. This study is based on the Kinetic Art which investigates the figurative arts usmg movement. Also this study includes the origin and development of Kinetic Art and the study for Kinetic Art and a jewelry done by native and foreign artists from in the early of 20th century to now. I believe in that this study will be an interesting attempt to realize the interaction between a human body and jewelry confering movement to passive jewelry. Not only technical originality and talent but also the knowledge of technical engineering and understanding of material is needed to make the Kinetic jewelry, Above all thing, intuitive knowledge for engineering information for mechanism caus ing movement, aesthetic sense and shape is essential, for the Kinetic jewelry is small figurati ve jewelry worn on the part of the body. Kinetic jewelry has potentially a number of skillful possibilities which have never been tried yet. So this new attempt in this study will bring forth the possibilities to make new trial keep going on. And then the artists in modem society must make the new attempt connected with technology as well as the movement.
