영문 초록

This Writing is a complementary version of the paper which this author presented under the title "Daseonryeilmi(Tea, Dhyana, & Propriety are the Same Sense) and Healthy Life" at the 10th international symposium 2004 of Korean Tea Association. It is a stroke of good fortune that this author introduces the writing about this author's interesting subject "tea, dhyana, and propriety" through this presentation. And this author expresses great gratitude to the board members and the others who made strong efforts to found the Korean Tea Association. As academic studies about tea have a significant contribution on the aspects of mind, body, society, and academy, the foundation of the Korean Tea Association is meaningful for the further development. The essential point of this writing explains that, in spite of the different operation of tea, dhyana, and propriety, the three have a same origin in the aspect of mind and can become a true Healthy(well-being) life. As a main reason of this argument, the term "Daseonilmi"(Tea and Dhyana are the Same Sense). which means the meeting of the tea cult and dhyana, has been used, and further, as the original spirit of propriety is 'respect' and the ultimate state of 'respect' means a spiritual union or agreement, this state is considered as the meeting of tea and dhyana. Another supporting example can be found in the "Darye" (tea-propriety) had bee practiced in the past Royal court and temples. On this point, this author attempts to add propriety into the meaning of "Daseonilmi" and to use "Daseonryeilmi" which may be first introduced in the academic community. The main part of this writing provides a specific review of "Daseonryeilmi(Tea, Dhyana, & Propriety are the Same Sense)". This author thinks that the result of this writing can provide a new chance for the development of Tea Cult academy.
