아동상담에서의 어머니 변화 - 치료놀이(Theraplay)를 중심으로

국문 초록

  본 연구의 목적은 아동상담방법 중, 부모-자녀 간 애착형성과 아동의 문제행동 감소에 효과적이라고 입증된 치료놀이를 바탕으로 어머니의 변화과정과 요인을 분석하는 데 있다. 부모상담에 대한 기존의 실증적 결과는 상호작용의 풍부성과 역동의 맥락을 충분히 이해하기 어렵기 때문에, 본 연구에서는 현상학을 이론적 기반으로 삼는 질적 연구를 통해 어머니 변화의 구체적 과정을 드러내고자 하였다. 그 결과, 어머니는 초기에 치료놀이의 효과에 대하여 반신반의했고 치료자처럼 아동을 대하지 못했던 자신에 대해서 죄책감을 느꼈다. 그러면서도 자신을 방어했다. 때로 아동과 치료자의 모습에 질투를 느꼈지만 치료자가 아동과 함께 했던 치료놀이 상호작용의 맥락을 일상으로 옮겨 그것을 적용하려고 노력하였다. 결국, 어머니는 치료자를 모델링하고 자각하며 시행착오를 거치는 과정을 통해 어머니만의 방식을 체화하게 되었다. 이러한 어머니의 변화과정에는 자리(position)경향성이 존재했으며 변화요인은 연쇄성이라는 특성을 내포하고 있었다. 뿐만 아니라 어머니의 변화 속에는 시간과 공간을 막론하고 ‘만남’, ‘책임’, ‘재구성’, ‘몰입’에 대한 해석의 과정이 내재하면서 변화를 일으킨다는 것을 발견할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

  The purposes of this study are to search for mother"s change process and factors in Theraplay. It has been proven that Theraplay, a type of child counseling methods, is an effective way not only for enhancement of mother-child attachment but also for reduction of problem behaviors of the child. This study tried to bring out the concrete process of interaction by means of qualitative methods which is based on phenomenology, a concrete understanding of changes in interaction is very useful for children, parents and therapists who are involved in Theraplay. In the beginning of Theraplay, the mother had doubts about the effectiveness of Theraplay, and felt guilty and jealousy toward the therapist at the same time because she thought she had not done for her child like therapist did before. She also showed self-defense attitudes. However, the mother gradually got to know what she should do by experience of Theraplay. As a result of this, the mother understood therapist"s interaction manner, and then she tried to copy and adopt the therapist"s manner in her daily life. Consequently, she acquired her own manner of interaction by making modeling of therapist"s manner through trial and error period. Through the above process, I understood that change process and factor could not be taken apart. First of all, I have found that change process was "position tendency", and change factors are linked intimately, so there are close correlation among change factors. As a result, mothers have found four meanings in phenomena, those are "encounter", "responsibility", "reconstruction", "immersion".
