수준별 집단구성과 긍정적 상호의존성이 협동학습에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

  본 연구는 7차 교육과정의 핵심요소의 하나인 수준별 교육과정을 적용하는데 있어 실제 학교현장에서 경험하는 시간, 인력, 공간 등의 어려움을 극복하기 위한 대안으로서 수준별 집단구성에 의한 협동학습을 제안하고자 기존의 문헌연구를 통해 여러 가지 시사점을 분석하였다. 협동학습을 위한 수준별 집단구성의 방법은 크게 동질능력집단과 이질능력집단에 의한 방법이 있었는데, 동질능력집단과 이질능력집단에 의한 학업성취, 학습에 대한 태도나 심리적인 상태가 일관되지 않은 결과를 나타냈다. 또한, 학습자의 수준에 따라 집단구성의 효과가 다르게 나타났고, 학습과제의 난이도에 따라서도 다른 결과를 보였다. 그런데, 기존의 연구에서 동질과 이질능력을 구별하는 기준이 모호하고, 협동학습을 구조화시키는 방법도 체계화되지 않은 경향이 보였으며, 진정한 의미의 협동학습과 수준별 집단구성전략이 체계화되어야 될 필요성을 발견했다. 따라서, 본 연구는 후속연구를 위해, 협동학습의 핵심요소인 상호의존성을 목표, 과제, 역할, 자원, 보상, 결과물, 및 외부자극의 세부요소를 구조적인 체계화시킬 수 있는 전략의 개발과, 학습자를 수준별로 변별하는 신뢰도 있는 도구와 기준의 설정, 협동학습시의 언어적 상호작용을 위한 체계화된 전략의 개발 등을 제안한다.

영문 초록

  The current study analyzed the various issues and aspects on cooperative learning research based on ability grouping as a solution to the problem of applying for ability-level based curriculum, one of main factors in the 7th curriculum revision, caused by the lack of time, labor, space in the practical school environment. There are two ways of ability grouping, homogeneous ability grouping and heterogeneous ability grouping. The previous research on ability grouping in the cooperative learning reported various inconsistent results in terms of their effects on achievement, attitude, psychological response based on homogeneous and heterogeneous ability grouping methods. The effects of ability grouping methods were also different from learning tasks, the difficulty of learning task, and learner"s previous ability level. It was likely that the criteria of discriminating ability level was inaccurate and illogical, the structure of cooperative learning was not systematic at the previous research. Therefore, true cooperative learning research and systematic ability grouping methods need to be designed and developed. The current research, therefore, suggest the further study of systematic design and development of interdependence as one of main factors in cooperative learning in terms of goal, task, role, resource, reward, outcome, external stimuli. At the same time, the research suggest the establishment of reliable instrument and criteria that differentiate the high, middle, and low level of learners. At last, the development of systematic strategies for cooperative verbal interactions are suggested.
