영문 초록

This study was to examine the relationship between God and humans, between humans themselves, and between humans and nature and creationism based education should be taught in Catholic preschools. The survey was conducted involving 294 Korean Catholic preschools in June 2003. The questionnaire designed to investigate the present state of creationism-based educational programs dealing with the relationship between God and humans, between humans themselves, and between humans and nature, as well as preschool directors perception of these programs. 236 directors filled out the questionnaire were used to analysis. The results of this research can be summarized as follows: First, most catholic preschools applied religious, and practical factors to their educational programs. Second, most directors answered that creationism was facing a serious challenge within society. Most of directors understood the importance of teaching creationism during preschool years, and demonstrated the desire to educate preschoolers about creationism in the future. Future research should be conducted within this ecological preschool education system, which is designed to transform the paradigm of preschool education by introducing creationism-based education program.
