생태미학의 관계 개념을 통한 미술교육의 재구성

국문 초록

본 연구는 기후 위기와 생태계 파괴라는 동시대적 위기 속에서 미술교육이 수행해야 할 생태전환적 역할을 탐구하기 위해 생태미학(ecological aesthetics)을 중심으로 한 이론적 전환을 시도하였다. 특히 ‘관계(relations)’와 ‘얽힘(entanglement)’의개념을 중심으로 다양한 이론 검토를 통해 미술교육을 단순한 표현·결과물 생산의장이 아니라, 인간·비인간·재료·장소가 서로 얽혀 새로운 의미를 생성하는 관계적장으로 재구성할 필요성을 제기하였다. 연구 방법으로는 국내외 생태미술교육 관련연구를 문헌 분석을 통해 고찰하였으며, 이론적 논의를 토대로 유아-초등-중등-고등으로 이어지는 발달 단계별 적용 방향을 제안하였다. 유아기에는 감각적 몰입과물질적 얽힘을 통한 경험 확장, 초등 단계에서는 장소성 탐구와 환경 서사 구성, 중학교에서는 비판적 생태감수성의 형성과 사회적 쟁점 탐구, 고등학교 단계에서는복합적 사고와 디지털 매체를 활용한 통합적 창작을 강조하였다. 본 연구는 미술교육에서 생태전환교육의 이론적 기반을 강화하고, 발달 단계별 연계성을 지닌 실천적방향을 제시하였으며, 감각성·재료성·비인간 주체성의 차원을 통합적으로 조망함으로써 미술교육이 생태 시민성을 함양하는 교육적 장으로 기능할 수 있는 가능성을제시하고자 하였다.

영문 초록

This study explores the ecological transformation of art education in response to contemporary crises such as climate change and ecological degradation. Grounded in ecological aesthetics, it focuses on the concepts of relations and entanglement, emphasizing art education as a relational field where humans, non-humans, materials, and places intertwine to generate meaning. Drawing on Berleant’s aesthetics of engagement, Ingold’s relational ontology, and place-based eco-art education, the study highlights the need to move beyond product-oriented approaches toward relational practices. A literature review of domestic and international research informed stage-specific applications: sensory immersion and material entanglement in early childhood, place-based inquiry and environmental storytelling in elementary education, critical ecological sensitivity in middle school, and integrative creative practices using digital media in high school. By synthesizing these approaches, the study strengthens the theoretical foundations of eco-transformative education and offers practical guidance for continuity across developmental stages. Ultimately, it demonstrates the potential of art education to foster ecological citizenship by integrating sensory experience, materiality, and non-human agency.
