국문 초록

본 연구는 초기 그리스도교 공동체 형성에 중요한 역할을 한 갈릴리인에 대한 고찰이다. 예수 운동의 발생지인 갈릴리와 갈릴리인에 대한 이해는 중요하다. 그 중 사도행전의 갈릴리인 연구는 요세푸스 문헌과 신약시대의 역사와 정치, 그리고 경제적인 측면을 고려한 다각적인 해석의 관점이 필요하다. 이러한 해석의 시도는 초기 그리스도교 공동체 형성의 주요 인물들인 갈릴리인에 대한 정체성 확인에 중요한 방향성을 제공하기 때문이다. 요세푸스 작품들에서 보이는 갈릴리인에 대한 불분명한 태도와 일부 학자들이 갈릴리인을 반란그룹으로 정의함으로 인해 사도행전의 갈릴리인 연구가 난항을 겪고 있는 가운데 일부 자료에 무게를 둔 갈릴리인에 대한 부정적 견해는 지양해야 한다. 그들의 저항은 정치적 전복이 아닌 당시 사회의 상황과 경제적 어려움이 반영된 방어적 태도가 내포된 것이기 때문이다. 누가-행전 저자는 요세푸스 작품에서 보이는 갈릴리인의 부정적 모습에 대해 무조건적 수용을 고심한다. 저자는 초기 그리스도교 확산에서 갈릴리가 포함되는 지리적 관점에 중점을 두고 이들을 긍정적으로 묘사하고자 하였다. 갈릴리인에 대하여 일반적으로 부정적인 인식을 사도행전 저자는 지속적으로 긍정의 서술로 바꾸며 갈릴리인을 새로운 관점에서 볼 수 있도록 이해를 제시한다. 이는 초기 그리스도교 확장을 위한 저자의 의도가 반영된 서사이다.

영문 초록

This thesis is a study on the Galileans who played an important role in the formation of the early Christian community. Understanding Galilee and the Galileans, the birthplace of the Jesus movement, is crucial. In particular, studying the Galileans in the Book of Acts requires a multifaceted interpretive perspective that considers Josephus's writings and the historical, political, and economic aspects of the New Testament era. This interpretation attempt provides an important direction for confirming the identity of the Galileans, who were key figures in the formation of the early Christian community. While the study of the Galileans in the Acts of the Apostles is facing difficulties due to the unclear attitude toward the Galileans in Josephus’s works and the definition of the Galileans by some scholars as a rebel group, the negative view of the Galileans based on some sources should be avoided. This is because their resistance was not geared towards a political overthrow, but was rather a defensive attitude that reflected the social situation and economic difficulties of the time. The author of Luke and Acts grapples with the unconditional acceptance of Josephus's negative portrayal of the Galileans. The author attempted to portray Galilee in a positive light, focusing on its geographical inclusion in the early spread of Christianity. The author of Acts consistently transforms the generally negative perception of the Galileans into a positive narrative, offering a fresh perspective on the Galileans. This narrative reflects the author's intention to expand early Christianity.
