국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 기왕에 수행된 시조문학 형식론에 대한 고찰을 통해 현대시조의 정형시로서의 좌표를 재독하고 그 기본형 정립의 방향성을 모색하는 데 있다. 알다시피 1920년대 시조부흥운동이 (근대)문학으로서의 시조의 좌표를 구상하는 데 집중했다면, 1950년대를 전후한 시기 시조문학에 대한 논의는 형식론과 함께 그 장르적 유효성에 대한 진단이 주조를 이룬다. 그럼에도 시조 율격에 대한 학계와 문단의 합의를 도출하지 못한 채 각자의 의견을 표출하는 데 그친 탓에, 시조 형식에 대한 이견을 불식하지 못했다. 이는 시조문학의 정체성을 파괴하거나 모호하게 하는 가짜-시조의 출현을 방기했으며, 시조 형식의 미확정성이 야기하는 장르적 혼란을 자초하는 요인이 되었다. 정형시로서의 현대시조의 형식 정체성을 탐사하고 그 기본형을 확립하는 일은 장르의 미래적 전망과 유효성을 구축하는 일과 닿아 있다. 이에 본 연구는 시조 형식론에 대한 선행연구를 탐색하고, 이를 바탕으로 정형시로서의 시조문학의 요건을 강화하기 위해 논의해야 할 주요 쟁점들을 궁구하고자 한다. 2장에서는 현대시조 형식론의 양상을 분석하고, 3장에서는 시조 기본형을 정립하기 위한 방향 모색과 그 형식적 요건을 제안하고자 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to reinterpret the coordinates of modern sijo as a fixed form through a review of the previously conducted formal criticism of sijo literature and to seek the direction for establishing its basic form. As you know, if the sijo revival movement in the 1920s focused on conceptualizing the coordinates of sijo as modern literature, the discussions surrounding sijo literature around the 1950s primarily centered on diagnostic evaluations of its genre along with formalism. Nevertheless, due to the failure to reach a consensus in academia and the literary community regarding the rhythmic structure of sijo, opinions were only expressed individually, preventing the resolution of disagreements about the sijo form. This has led to the emergence of faux-sijo that undermine or obscure the identity of sijo literature, contributing to the genre's confusion that originates from the indeterminacy of the sijo form. Exploring the formal identity of modern sijo as a fixed form and establishing its basic form is closely related to building the future prospects and validity of the genre. Accordingly, this study explores previous research on the formal theory of sijo and, based on this, seeks to explore key issues that should be discussed to strengthen the requirements of sijo literature as a formal poem. Chapter 2 will analyze the aspects of modern sijo formalism, and Chapter 3 will propose directions for establishing the basic form of sijo and its formal requirements.
