국문 초록
Objective: This study aims to identify latent profiles of school dropout risk among multicultural adolescents and examine associated psychosocial, academic, and parental predictors. Methods: Using data from the fifth wave of the second Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study (MAPS), 1,842 adolescents (Mage=13.05) were analyzed. Latent profile analysis (LPA) was conducted to classify individuals based on dropout-related risk indicators. Multinomial logistic regression with the 3-STEP procedure assessed the effects of psychosocial characteristics, school adjustment, career-related variables, and parenting styles on profile membership. Results: Four profiles were identified: (1) low-risk, (2) moderate-risk, (3) economically and family-strained high-risk, and (4) economically motivated risk group. Profiles 3 and 4 showed elevated dropout risk, but differed in nature. Profile 3 showed high aggression, depression, family conflict, and emotional disengagement. Profile 4 was marked by strong economic motivation, high aggression and depression, parental neglect, high career readiness, and low social withdrawal. Each group showed a distinct pattern of risk and protective factors. Conclusions: Dropout risk among multicultural adolescents is heterogeneous. Tailored interventions addressing psychological and contextual factors are needed for each group.
